Our Story
Sapling was officially formed in 2009, initially as a one-engineer LLC, with a simple mission statement: "build cool stuff." This was just a few years after the first iPhone was released, and it was clear it was going to be a game-changer.
In the early days, we primarily supported hospitality, maintenance, security, and law enforcement agencies, who typically wanted branded, enterprise solutions. As consumer Apps grew in popularity, we added retail clients to our portfolio in 2013. Our enterprise experience enabled us to build end-to-end solutions for brick and mortar retailers, including both BOH and FOH solutions, while also supporting customer-facing Apps. The next decade was a whirlwind and we found great success supporting several Fortune 100 companies.
As our portfolio grew, so did our network, and the need to expand. The mission statement was revised: "build cool stuff, and hire great people." We brought on an expert in cross-platform development, then an expert in hybrid solutions, then backend experts, and so on. Today, we're more than 20-strong, but we run a flat company. Everyone on the team is an expert in some capacity, focused on one outcome: helping our clients succeed.
